The Streaming Giant Casts Ideal Star for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season

The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.

The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an perfect replica of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and animated series.

Escola will work alongside multiple fresh additions set to bring the organization to the screen, including head Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.

Although Bon Clay is a important part of the group, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
