🔗 Share this article The network's Premier New Show of 2025 Secures a Major Renewal for Seasons 2 and 3. During the fall season, Adult Swim welcomed back its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. Yet, not long after, the channel introduced a brand-new animated series with a distinctly unique vibe. Haha, You Clowns emerged as sweet and soothing, evoking a cartoon version of a contemplative talk show. At a time often defined by dark humor, this show's wholesomeness resonated deeply and propelled it a surprise hit. A Significant Investment In mid-December, Adult Swim confirmed a big renewal: Haha, You Clowns has been picked up for two more seasons. This provides creator Joe Cappa significant creative freedom to develop the story of the Campbell family. The series centers on three polite teenage brothers whose defining trait is their profound affection for their widowed father, with Cappa voicing for all four key characters. "My deepest thanks go to the audience of the show who welcomed the series and shared it with others," said Cappa. "I’m incredibly thrilled that I get to hang out at the Campbell household for the foreseeable future." A President's Endorsement The official statement also included laudits from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who called the series as "radically heartfelt and uniquely eerie." He specifically highlighted the fans who discovered the show and championed its uniquely offbeat sensibility. "All of you supported this new show, rooted for it on social media, and helped it grow week over week so we could approve not one, but two more seasons," said Ouweleen. "In the words: 'You are strong! You are loved!'" A Wholesome Alternative Earlier this fall, Haha, You Clowns was hailed as "a gentle counterpart" to more cynical adult animated fare. There’s something unexpectedly cozy about watching this endearing family navigate their everyday routines. In earlier interviews, creator Joe Cappa expressed his desire to move the comedy genre beyond its current sarcastic tone. He traced this trend to various cultural shifts. “There's this level of irony that we keep returning to,” explained Cappa. “It's like we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for 10 years, and we need to laugh at something different now. Comedy has to evolve.” Future Seasons Now, with Haha, You Clowns set to continue, Cappa has the opportunity to catalyze that very evolution. If nothing else, the renewal ensures audiences more opportunities to bask in the heartfelt moments of the beloved Campbell clan. The first season's conclusion of Haha, You Clowns will premiere on December 21st. All episodes is ready to watch on HBO Max.
