Brian Eno Encourages Support to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The effort seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the piece was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The diverse array of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of producers and composers. The song showcases a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from later in the month.
